On 12/29/2022 at 1234 hours, the Putnam County E-911 Joint Telecommunications Center received a 911 call regarding a 20-year old white male who had shot himself by accident trying to unload a handgun.  The incident took place at a residence on US Highway 136, in Lucerne, MO.

The male was later pronounced deceased on-scene and transported to Playle and Collins Family Funeral Home, Unionville, MO.

No foul play is suspected.
